after the rough five day sail from cartagena peter and esteban stopped again in the beautiful errol flynn marina in port antonio. here esteban saw morgan for the first time through skype. esteban wanted to depart immediately to be with us but the weather had other plans. so he had to wait in the marina five days for the north winds to clam a bit to be able to cross the windward passage between haiti and cuba. meanwhile they prepared the boat and themselves for the last leg. as usual, getting all the food and boat ready for the trip and also doing some sightseeing in between. it rained a lot this time in Jamaica and the color of the water changed from beautiful blue to brown in seconds from the mud from the mountains. it really must rain a lot in this place because everything is so green. last time we were here we were lucky i guess, I remember having a radiant sun almost every day.

from port antonio to cartagena
the crossing was rough to say the least. we had 30 knots of wind every day for 5 days and the waves were pretty high.... we got wet because of the splash of the waves against the boat every 10 minutes....... so it was impossible to change clothes and keep dry.... the boat was rocking so heavy i was not able to cook, or i guess i could have but preferred not to, not to get sick... although i got sick nevertheless. we both got sick in fact. but we made it safely and after having done it we both agree it was a tremendous experience.
we definetly recomend it specially for the people that are considering joining a weight reduction program... instead of spending money in one of those weight programms.. just come sailing through this part of the world and i am sure they will losse the extra punds, we guarantee it! in our case it worked wonderfully!

blue lagoon

the blue lagoon is an enchanting spot with blue deep water and a spring of fresh water and therefore fresh water gets mixed with the ocean creating a perfect temperature and a weird oily sensation in the water. it’s amazing! we went with the dinghy to swim and snorkel with our newly met french friends opel and clemance. apparently parts of the film the blue lagoon were filmed here... i am not surprised this spot looks like a piece of paradise!

we arrived on july 1 to the beautiful parish of portland in jamaica, precisely to the errol lflynn marina in port antonio. HEAVEN!!!! definitely one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen. the marina is amazingly beautiful and the service and people are great. a place where we will certainly come back to, with more time to cruise everywhere.
